Clementine Bourbon Cocktail Recipe

Clementine Cocktail Good ingredients make great cocktails. With citrus season in full swing, I’ve been shaking up cocktails and mocktails with fresh squeezed juice. This drink recipe is a mix of fresh squeezed clementine juice and bourbon whiskey. The addition of orange liqueur and orange bitters amps up the citrus flavor.

Clementine Bourbon Cocktail Recipe
3 ounces fresh squeezed clementine juice
1 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
3/4 ounce orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
Few dashes orange bitters
Clementine slices
Pomegranate arils

Add clementine juice, bourbon, orange liqueur and orange bitters to cocktail shaker. Add ice to cocktail shaker; cover and shake vigorously. Strain into chilled glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with clementine slices and pomegranate arils.

Blood Orange CocktailSweet and tangy citrus juice meets spicy ginger beer in this simple cocktail. Start with your spirit of choice–vodka or bourbon–and add fresh squeezed juice from blood oranges and Meyer lemons. Top with ginger beer for extra flavor and effervescence.

Tips:
-Can’t find blood oranges? Try with mandarin orange juice or red grapefruit juice.
-For the best flavor use fresh squeezed juice, and be sure to use ginger beer rather than ginger ale.
-For a nonalcoholic mocktail, mix equal parts blood orange juice with ginger beer.

Kentucky Mule Bourbon Whiskey Drink Recipe

Kentucky Mule Bourbon Drink Simplicity. With only 3 ingredients, this whiskey drink is anything but fussy. It’s also quite delicious.

A Kentucky Mule is a mix of fresh lime juice, spicy ginger beer and bourbon whiskey. It’s one of my favorite simple drinks. Besides using a decent bourbon (from Kentucky, of course), the key to this cocktail is using a good tasting ginger beer. I used Gosling’s Stormy Ginger Beer to make this drink. Whatever mixer you choose, be sure to use ginger beer rather than ginger ale.

Kentucky Mule Bourbon Drink Recipe
1 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
4 ounces ginger beer, chilled
Lime wedge

Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add bourbon and fresh lime juice to glass. Top with ginger beer; stir gently. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Makes 1 drink

Tip: To make a Moscow Mule, use vodka in place of the bourbon. But really, why would you choose vodka over whiskey? :)
